Our Privacy Philosophy
Thresh helps you capture and organize your thinking through structured reflection. Your journal entries, reflections, and insights are deeply personal—we've designed the app to keep them that way.
Information We Collect
Your Reflections: Journal entries, reflections, and insights you create in Thresh are stored locally on your device — we cannot access them. On the Pro tier, the text of a specific reflection may be transmitted off-device for AI analysis, and only with your explicit consent, as described in "Third-party AI processing" below.
Account Information: If you create an account for sync or backup, we collect your email address.
Usage Analytics: We collect anonymous usage statistics (feature usage, app stability) to improve Thresh. This data cannot identify you or reveal your reflection content.
How We Use Your Information

Third-party AI processing
Thresh's Pro tier uses Anthropic's Claude to extract patterns, themes, stories, ideas, and questions from your reflection text. Free and Plus tiers do not transmit reflection content to Anthropic.
What we send: only the text of the specific reflection being analyzed. We do not send your name, email, full journal history, or any data outside the reflection you're acting on. Anthropic does not use this content to train their models — this is governed by Anthropic's commercial terms with Continuity Labs.
When we send it: Thresh asks for your explicit consent before the first transmission. Pro users can revoke consent at any time in Settings → Privacy in the Thresh app; subsequent reflections will skip AI extraction entirely.
What We Don't Do
- Read your journal entries or reflections
- Use your writing to train AI models
- Sell your data to third parties
- Share your information for advertising
Your Rights
You can export or delete your data at any time within the app. For account-related requests, contact support@continuitylabs.ai.
