Our Privacy Philosophy
POPs is your Life HQ—consolidating calendar, tasks, and contacts in one place. Your captures, entities, and personal data are deeply personal. We've designed the app to respect that.
Information We Collect
Your Captures: Voice recordings, text captures, and photo captures are processed to extract entities (people, tasks, events, places, goals, aspirations, ideas). Your data syncs across your devices via iCloud (Apple's CloudKit). We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Voice Recordings: Audio is transcribed using on-device speech recognition. Voice recordings are deleted after transcription unless you explicitly choose to save them.
AI Processing: Your transcribed text is sent to our AI service (Claude by Anthropic, hosted via Google Cloud) for entity extraction. We do not store your transcripts on our servers. The AI processes your text and returns structured entities, then the data is discarded.
Calendar & Contacts: POPs reads your calendar (via EventKit) and contacts (via Contacts framework) to link extracted entities to existing events and people. This data stays on your device and in your iCloud account.
Email Metadata (Premium): If you connect Gmail, we access email metadata only—sender, recipient, dates, and subject lines. We NEVER read or store email body content. This metadata enriches your contact information with relationship context.
Account Information: If you create an account or subscribe to Premium, we collect your email address and payment information (processed by Apple).
Usage Analytics: With your consent, we collect anonymous usage statistics to improve POPs. This includes feature usage patterns, capture counts, and app stability data. See "Analytics" section below for details.
Analytics: What We Track (With Your Consent)
If you opt in to analytics, we collect:
- Feature usage patterns (which screens you visit, which features you use)
- Capture statistics (count, duration, type—NOT content)
- Entity extraction performance (count, confidence scores—NOT content)
- App crashes and errors
- Device type and OS version
We NEVER track:
- Your voice recordings or transcripts
- Names of people you mention
- Content of tasks, events, or ideas
- Calendar event details
- Email content or subjects
- Query text or AI responses
- Any personally identifiable information
Analytics data is sent to Google BigQuery and cannot be used to identify you or reconstruct your personal information.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide core app functionality (capture, entity extraction, organization)
- Sync your data across your devices via iCloud
- Process AI entity extraction (text is processed then discarded)
- Enrich contact information with email metadata (Premium)
- Improve app performance and stability (with consent)
- Process payments (via Apple)
- Send service-related communications
Third-Party Services
POPs uses the following third-party services:
- Apple iCloud (CloudKit): Syncs your data across devices. Governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- Anthropic (Claude AI): Processes text for entity extraction. Text is not stored after processing.
- Google Cloud Platform: Hosts our AI proxy service. Analytics stored in BigQuery.
- Google Gmail API: Accesses email metadata (Premium). Email bodies are never accessed.
- Apple App Store: Processes subscriptions and payments.
What We Don't Do
- Read your captures, cards, or entities
- Store your voice recordings on our servers
- Read email body content (metadata only)
- Train AI models on your personal data
- Sell your data to third parties
- Share your information for advertising
- Track your location
Data Storage & Security
Your captures, entities, and personal data are stored in your private iCloud container. We cannot access this data. Only you (and devices signed into your iCloud account) can access your POPs data.
Our AI processing service uses HTTPS encryption. Text sent for entity extraction is processed in memory and not persisted.
Your Rights
Access & Export: Premium users can export their data from within the app at any time.
Deletion: You can delete individual cards, entities, or all data from within the app. Since data is stored in your iCloud, deletion is under your control.
Analytics Opt-Out: You can disable analytics at any time in Settings.
Account Deletion: Contact support@continuitylabs.ai to delete your account and any associated data we hold.
Children's Privacy
POPs is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email.
